VALD Performance Testing

At Fortis, we use the VALD ForceDecks, ForceFrame and NordBord systems across both Exercise Physiology and Physiotherapy in an approach to understanding human movement, performance and in the identification of injury risk to assist in guiding rehabilitation (or pre-habilitation).

Measurement provides the baseline for improvement and VALD systems enable you to objectively track and monitor strength, power, symmetry and neuromuscular function over time or during the rehabilitative process as used by elite athletes across the globe in codes such as the NRL, AFL, EPL, NFL and NBA.

Our VALD Technologies

The ForceDecks allows for the collection of a full strength and power profile while identifying the potential for injury risk across a range of movements including squatting, deadlifting, jumping, landing, hopping and upper body assessments such as completing a push up. Clients who may benefit from a ForceDecks screening include those who are in pre or post-operative care, returning to performance following injury or those who want to objectify their training results and track neuromuscular changes and imbalances over time.

The ForceFrame provides uses with the ability to assess isometric strength and imbalances in over 130 test positions, assessing strength at joints such as the neck, shoulder, hip, knee and ankle. Clients who are currently under pre or post-operative care benefit from assessment using the ForceFrame to track change in strength and symmetry over time.

The NordBord delivers important information regarding hamstring strength and symmetry through hamstring-orientated movements such as the Nordic and Razor curl along with isometric strength at varying degrees of knee flexion. Athletes with a history of hamstring injury benefit from gaining objective information regarding hamstring strength and symmetry which can be used to reduce the risk of re-injury. This is also important for clients who have undergone ACL reconstructive surgery where a hamstring graft has been used.
